Dimitris Skoutas

Geospatial and Temporal Big Data, Machine Learning

I have received my Diploma on Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens NTUA in 2003, and my PhD in Computer Science also from NTUA in 2008, under the supervision of Prof. Timos Sellis. During this period, I have worked as a Research Assistant at the Knowledge and Database Systems Lab KDBSL at NTUA and at the Information Management Systems Institute IMSI.

From 2009 to 2011, I have worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the L3S Research Center in Hannover, Germany. Currently I am a Principal Researcher at IMSI, "Athena" Research and Innovation Center. I have extensive experience in EU and national research projects.

My research interests focus mainly on Big Data analytics, especially geospatial data and linked data. I have more than 70 publications in peer-reviewed international journals, conferences, and workshops in these areas.
